1) Call John at 214-636-5475 before providing any information to the insurance company, explanations or statements. This is CRITICAL.
2) Do not post anything about your accident, liability, etc. on Social Media
3) Do not text anything to anyone regarding your accident or details of the accident.
4) Call the police and get your auto accident recorded properly.
5) If you – or anyone else – have been injured in the accident, seek immediate medical help.
6) If an insurance company gives you paperwork, review it with John before you sign anything.
7) Don't accept any settlement until after you've consulted with John to make sure you get fair compensation for your injuries.
8) DO keep track of all work missed because of the accident and follow-up medical appointments, all medical treatment received, and how you felt physically and emotionally because of your injuries.
9) DO get a property damage valuation from your insurance company or from two independent shops if you aren’t satisfied with how your insurance company has valued the damage to your car.
10) DO take photographs of all of the following, as applicable, as soon as possible after the accident:
the scene of the accident, from all angles; the surrounding area; the other vehicles; videos are great too;
your injuries, including taking pictures over the time it takes your injuries to heal, if applicable.
11) DO get the license plate numbers of all other vehicles involved in your accident and the drivers' names, addresses, telephone numbers, and insurance information.
12) Take the name, address and phone numbers for any witnesses to the accident.
13) A few days after the accident when things settle down, add as much personal injury protection (PIP) as you can afford to your vehicle’s policy so you will have it in case you are ever involved in another accident. PIP is NO FAULT and pays medical bills and lost wages up to the policy limit you set!
